Adult
Sports Core's adult instructional program offers tennis lessons at three different levels. Students are classified using the same National Tennis Rating Program (NTRP) Scale that is used in our leagues and tournaments. The primary objective is to help students learn to play more enjoyably in social tennis events and more successfully in competition. You can also count on participating in entertaining drills and getting some exercise in every lesson.
Starter Tennis Program
Designed for beginners learning the basics of the game, as well as rules and information on selecting appropriate equipment. Step-by-step instructional approach will develop coordination and skills necessary to master the game of tennis.
Level I (Rated 2.4-2.9)
Geared toward the player with limited tennis experience. Starting with simple ball and racquet control exercises, the session leads students through technical instruction on groundstrokes, volley, serve and overhead. Students will learn basic positioning and tactics for both singles and doubles play.
Level II (Rated 3.0-3.5)
Students will refine the skills introduced in Level I by learning to better control shot placement, spin and pace. Specialty shots, such as the approach shot and drop shot will be taught. Emphasis is on improving match performance through the use of consistent stroke production and the application of high-performance tactics.
Level III (Rated 3.6 & Up)
Designed for accomplished players, offers continued focus on consistent, high-percentage play while developing a more dynamic, opportunistic all-court game. Point situations will be emphasized as students work to develop one or more shots that will become their major weapons.
Lesson + Tactic + Strategy
