Art Santos
Art has been a member of Peter Burwash International since 1979. He is a graduate of the University of Hawaii at Hilo, where he obtained a B.A. in Liberal Studies and Teaching Certification in Elementary Education.
While attending the university, Art played number one singles and doubles for four years, and was captain for three of those years. He was the Hawaii State Collegiate Champion in singles and doubles, and was voted Athlete of the Year. Holding a number one ranking in men's singles in Hawaii for 5 years, he has won over 33 singles titles and 22 doubles titles.
Art has also won international titles in singles and doubles in the Caribbean, Middle East and Austria. Art competes in USTA Sanctioned Tournaments and has attained a #1 ranking in Wisconsin Men's 35 singles in 1992, and #2 in Men’s 45 singles in the Midwest Section in 2000 and 2002.
Since joining PBI in 1979, Art has directed programs all over the world. He has managed tennis programs in Asia (Hong Kong, Malaysia, China), the Middle East (United Arab Emirates, Sultanate of Oman), Europe (Italy, Austria, Germany, Switzerland), Caribbean (St. Kitts, St. Maarten, Nevis) and in the United States. Presently, he is the Director of Tennis at Sports Core.
Art is also involved in the Peter Burwash International Tennis Show, sometimes referred to as the "Harlem Globetrotters of Tennis." The show has performed in 95 countries and Art has been a major performer in many of them.
Boniface Koross
Boniface (Kip) Koross, born and raised in Kenya, has been an international tennis coach for eighteen years. Kip began his tennis career in Kenya and first came to the United States on a tennis scholarship at Midwestern State University in Texas. There he played the number one position on his college team and received a B.S. in biology. During this time, he was also selected to represent his country at the World University Games in Mexico. After graduation, Kip played competitively on the U.S. Penn Circuit before joining PBI.
Through PBI, he coached the Chinese National Junior Teams in Kunming, Chengdu and Peking, in a pioneer program requested by the Chinese Tennis Association. He has also coached the top Indian junior players with the Brittania Amritraj Tennis (BAT) programs in Chennai.
In addition to coaching top juniors, Kip has also taught and directed PBI programs in Hawaii, Austria, Germany and Spain. Through this, he has gained a wide experience, which encompasses resort, club and camp programs, and teaching students of all ages and abilities. Through his wide travel and experience, Kip can now teach tennis in English, German, Spanish and Swahili.
