As host of
the 2004 PGA Championship, the Straits course at Whistling Straits,
promises to be a stern challenge for the greatest players in the
world. Voted one of Americas top 3 golf courses by GolfWeek
and ranked #50 in the world by Golf Magazine. Whistling
Straits features two miles of uninterrupted shoreline on Lake
Michigan with towering bluffs and massive sand dunes. A walking-only
course, Straits pays homage to the origins of the game, created
in the style of the legendary seaside links of Ireland and Scotland.
The PGA Championship,
one of only four major professional golf championships, is the
final major of the calendar year and will be played for the 86th
time from August 9-15th in 2004. The PGA Championship is considered
one of the toughest in all of golf to win as it features the strongest
field in major championship golf. This championship already promises
to be a sellout more than two years in advance of the event.
