1995-1997 Andersen Consulting World Championship of Golf
Blackwolf Run hosted a regional championship of the Andersen Consulting World Championship of Golf three times in the 90's - the United States Championship in 1995 and the International Championship in 1996 and 1997. Greg Norman was victorious in 1996 leading a field that included Nick Price, Ernie Els, Vijay Singh, David Frost and Craig Perry. Returning in 1997 to defend his title, Greg Norman found himself facing the challenges of not only the course, but also a field that included seven of the top 25 players in the world. Els rose to the top winning the 1997 championship among this highly competitive field.

1998 U.S. Women's Open (Record Breaking)
Befitting of the week’s theme, the 1998 U.S. Women’s Open Championship at Blackwolf Run in Kohler, Wisconsin started and finished with a bang. From a stellar field of players including Nancy Lopez, Annika Sorenstam, Alison Nicholas and Laura Davies, a rookie and an amateur stepped forward to provide the drama in front of a record shattering 124,500 spectators, including those attending the additional playoff day. Se Ri Pak and Jenny Chuasiriporn played a total of 92 holes of championship golf (another record) before Pak finally claimed the title of 53rd US Women's Open Champion.

1999 PGA Club Professional Championship
The PGA Club Professional Championship’s first visit to Wisconsin was also the first national championship contested at Whistling Straits. First time participant Jeff Freeman became the seventh player in Championship history to win the CPC in his first attempt. The 37-year-old assistant professional from Tamarisk Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California posted the only sub-par total in the field, a 1-under-par 287, to clinch the victory.

2004 PGA Championship (Record Breaking)
As host of the 2004 PGA Championship, the Straits Course at Whistling Straits, was a stern challenge for the greatest players in the world. After 72 holes of play, three players were tied for the lead forcing a 3-hole playoff, where Vijay Singh came out victorious winning his 2nd PGA Championship title.

2005 Palmer Cup
The Irish Course at Whistling Straits hosted this annual Ryder Cup-style competition where top U.S. collegiate players tee off against their European counterparts. The American team reclaimed the Palmer Cup after winning the first six individual matches on the final day of play.
